EU imposes provisional 62.3- 80.7% AD duties on Chinese screws, bolts

The European Union has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of certain screws and bolts originating from China, Kallanish notes.

These screws and bolts are made of iron or non-stainless steel, whether or not with their nuts and washers, and without heads, falling under CN codes 73181542 and 73181548.

The measure excludes coach screws, wood screws, screw hooks and rings, self-tapping screws, and screws and bolts used in railway track construction.

The provisional anti-dumping duty rates vary depending on the exporting company.

The rates of the provisional anti-dumping duty apply to the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty, and vary depending on the exporting company.

Zhejiang Junyue Standard Part Co., Ltd. is subject to a duty of 62.3%. Companies under the Brother Group face a 63.9% duty, while those under the Chinafar Group are subject to an 80.7% rate. Other cooperating companies listed in the annex are assigned a duty of 67.4%, and all other exporters from China not specifically named face a duty of 80.7%.

To benefit from a company-specific duty rate, a certified commercial invoice must be provided at customs. Without it, the highest rate of 80.7% applies.

Customs authorities were instructed to stop the registration of imports, however, data on products that entered the EU up to 90 days prior to new regulation will be retained until the entry into force of possible definitive measures, or the termination of this proceeding.
