Ukraine’s exports of semi-finished products increased in July, according to customs data monitored by Kallanish.
The country exported 673,100 tonnes of semis, up by 31.8% year-on-year. In January-July semis exports were flat on-year at 4.3 million tonnes. Seven-month semis export revenue declined -14.8% on-year to $1.55 billion.
The main consumers of Ukrainian semi-finished products are Italy with a 26.31% share in exports, Turkey with 15.65% and China with 8.45%.
Ukrainian steelmakers also increased pig iron exports in July, by 67.7% on-year to 331,800t. Revenue increased by 43.1% to $89.4 million. Seven-month exports rose 29.1% to 1.8mt, with revenue generated rising 12.8% to $511.7m.
January-July ferroalloy exports fell -22% to 417,200t. Revenue fell -23.8% on-year to $445.9m. The main destinations were the Netherlands with a 26.77% share, Turkey with 14.31% and Italy with 12.24%.
Ukrainian pipe exports in January-July fell -29.1% on-year to 282,000t. Revenue decreased by -25.7% to $321.2m. Within this, seamless pipe exports were 211,500t or $277.5m. Exports of other pipe accounted for 62,800t or $34.2m. Pipe and tube with a diameter up to 406.9mm exports amounted to 7,200t or $7.5m.
The main export destinations for seamless pipe were Germany, the USA and Russia. Turkmenistan bought more than half of pipe up to 406.9mm in diameter, while Moldova bought about 9.75%.
