According to statistics, Taiwan imported around 458,800 tons of ferrous scrap in the first two months of this year, slightly sliding by 0.9% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports from the US accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 231,900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 36.4%. Japan ranked second with around 46,800 tons, dropping by 67.5% year on year.
In February, Taiwan’s scrap imports amounted to approximately 240,600 tons, up by 10.2% month on month and by 13% year on year.
