Indonesia Dexin Steel has signed the EPC contract for its No.3 blast furnace with China MCC Group's subsidiary MCC International, Kallanish notes.
The project is located in the Tsingshan Industrial Park in Morowali on Sulawesi, Indonesia. Dexin will see the construction of one 1,780 cubic-metre blast furnace, with designed capacity of 1.52 million tonnes/year, Kallanish notes.
According to MCC International, this BF will help to increase Dexin's hot metal capacity to 6 million tonnes/year. It is part of the capacity expansion project of Dexin steelworks' first phase. Last year, Dexin signed an engineering & procurement contract with MCC's WISDRI for the new equipment of the expansion project.
On 10 October 2020, Indonesia Dexin signed a letter of intent saying its plan is eventually to boost the Indonesian project's total capacity to 20m t/y. Dexin's steel project is jointly funded by Delong Group, Shanghai Decent Investment, PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park and Hanwa Singapore (Private) Limited.
