According to the official statistic from the US government, the total exports of scrap from the US last year were 17.9 million tons, increased by nearly 6% from the previous year.
The main destinations for American scrap in 2021 were Turkey (3.47 million tons), Mexico (3.14 million tons), Vietnam (1.43 million tons), and South Korea (643,000 tons).
Among them, Turkey has the largest growth, increasing by above 1 million tons from 2020.
