Japan’s crude steel output expected to in line with FY21-22 level

Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) Chairman Eiji Hashimoto said that Japan’s crude steel output in the fiscal year 2022-23 was expected to be in line with the level in the fiscal year 2021-22, amounting to 95-97 million tons.

Eiji Hashimoto also expressed his hope that the US could lift the Section 232 tariffs on steel imports from Japan as soon as possible.
