The EU is going to declare its final decision of the Waste Shipment Regulation on November 17. Some of the market participants hold their own opinions regarding how much impact will be on scrap exports although it was estimated that the EU will prohibit all steel scrap exports since then.
Cinzia Vezzosi, President of EuRIC, believed that every kind of restriction on export activities should be executed gradually, explaining that apparently, the EU doesn't have the industrial ability to ingest all its scrap exports at the moment.
Data showed that the EU is still the largest scrap steel exporter in the world. Turkey is considered to be the most affected country once the scrap steel export ban really comes true in the future.
