According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on October 23, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.87 million short tons, decreasing by 0.6% from the same period a week ago while rising by 20.7% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 84.7%, down by 0.6% week on week while going up by 14.6% year on year.
As of the week ending October 23, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 77.019 million short tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%. The capacity utilization rate was 81.3%, a year-on-year growth of 14.2%.
