Indian private-sector producer JSW Steel will commission a 120,000 t/yr colour-coated steel manufacturing facility in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, but did not provide a timeline.
The facility will be established with an investment of around Rs150bn ($19.9mn) at IDC, Lassipora, Pulvama and will also produce steel sandwich panels and steel doors for the local market, the company said today.
The central government has given land allocation papers to JSW Group's chairman & managing director Sajjan Jindal.
JSW acquired Asian Colour Coated Ispat with 1mn t/yr downstream capacity in October 2020.
JSW lit its second blast furnace at Dolvi, Maharashtra earlier this month, doubling the plant's capacity to 10mn t/yr.
