Taiwan’s CSC aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050

In response to the global carbon reduction trend, China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest carbon steel manufacturer in Taiwan, General Manager Xi Qin Wang said that the six blast furnaces under CSC will gradually be replaced into smart blast furnaces in the future.

The firm has planned to cut carbon emissions by 7% by 2025 and aimed to achieve carbon neutrality by that time, moving towards low-carbon blast furnace or even zero carbon blast furnace for its mid and long-term goals.

In the past 10 years, CSC has reduced carbon emissions by 1.35 million tons of CO2 per year, with an average annual carbon reduction of 0.65%.
