Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) announced domestic price increases of NT$300 per ton across all monthly-priced products for December 2026. The upward adjustments apply to hot-rolled steel plates and coils (general materials), hot-rolled steel coils (rolling materials), cold-rolled steel coils (general materials), electro-galvanized steel coils (construction materials), and hot-dip galvanized steel coils (construction and pre-painted materials).
The price hikes reflect strengthening international steel markets, growing downstream export orders, and a depreciating New Taiwan Dollar. High raw material costs provide underlying support, with iron ore and coking coal consolidating near US$90 and US$265 per ton, respectively.
US hot-rolled coil spot prices exceeded US$1,450 per ton due to tight supply, while European Union market prices remained high under trade restrictions.
Regionally, Tokyo Steel raised November prices by 3,000 JPY per ton, and Vietnam's Hoa Phat held hot-rolled coil prices flat in local currency, representing a US$5 per ton increase in USD terms.
