High preliminary anti-dumping (AD) duties of 51.19% to 54.74% on Taiwanese oil country tubular goods (OCTG) effectively shut down exports to the US. Combining these new margins with existing 50% steel tariffs drives total import tax rates above 100%, pricing Taiwanese pipe far out of competitive range against US domestic market levels.
Taiwanese OCTG shipments to the US grew steadily from over 120,000 tons in 2023 to nearly 240,000 tons in 2025. With monthly exports of 10,000 to 30,000 tons now blocked, Taiwanese manufacturers are accelerating local US factory investment plans.
Meanwhile, diverting cancelled export volumes back into the domestic market will intensify competition among local Taiwanese steel pipe producers.
