According to statistics from Korea Iron and Steel Association (KOSA), South Korea's total crude steel production amounted to 35.2 million tons in the first half of 2021, increasing by 8.3% compared with the same period of last year.
Among them, the crude steel output from electric furnaces rose by 9.1% year on year to 11.5 million tons.
Both POSCO and Hyundai Steel were optimistic about steel demand and the pricing trend in the second half of this year.
