The Australian Trade Remedies Commission (ATRC), formerly known as the Anti-Dumping Commission, initiated an accelerated review of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) applying to certain aluminum-zinc coated steel flat rolled products from China, focusing on manufacturer Shandong Shinmade Material Tech Co., Ltd.
Initiated upon Shinmade's September 18, 2026 application, the investigation examines the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Existing trade remedy measures remain scheduled to expire on August 5, 2028.
Shinmade argues that current measures do not reflect its own domestic sales and production costs because the firm didn’t participate in the initial investigations and previously exported no subject products to Australia during the original probe period.
The current duties on Chinese exporters range between 21.6% and 33.0%, with certain suppliers subject to floor price arrangements and countervailing rates of 0.4% to 1.2%.
The products involved are flat rolled products of iron and non-alloy steel plated or coated with aluminum-zinc alloys, in widths equal to or greater than 600mm, whether or not surface treated, including combinations of surface treatments or resin coating.
