China's Maanshan Iron & Steel Company Limited (Masteel) awarded Danieli a contract for a new continuous casting machine in Anhui province, extending a twenty-five-year cooperation that began in 2000.
The scope includes a billet continuous caster designed to manufacture high-quality rounds from 150 to 380 mm in diameter. Production targets high-value special steels and alloyed grades for premium seamless tube manufacturing.
Equipment features Level 1 and Level 2 automation systems with the Liquid Pool Control (LPC) solidification model. Key components will be built and tested locally within Danieli facilities in China, supporting the customer's long-product portfolio requirements.
