Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel restored blast furnace No. 1 to stable operation on September 8 after completing repairs on hot air furnace No. 3.
The incident originated around 8:16 AM on September 4 in Vung Ang ward when equipment malfunction discharged sparks, igniting nearby grass. Plant crews executed an emergency shutdown immediately and deployed personnel to resolve the mechanical issue.
The company confirmed that the prompt recovery fully resolved the operational disruption without altering corporate production targets for 2026.
