Mexico launches AD investigation on Japanese steel plates

Mexico has initiated an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on steel plate imports from Japan, following a resolution published in the country's official gazette.

The Ministry of Economy accepted the request from Grupo Acerero, which alleged price discrimination and material injury to the domestic industry from Japanese steel plates.

The investigation covers all steel plates under tariff codes 7208.51.04 and 7208.52.01 of the TIGIE, originating in Japan, regardless of the country from which they are exported.

The review period for the investigation is set from January 1 to December 31, 2025, while the damage analysis period runs from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025.

Interested producers and individuals have 23 business days to submit their legal responses, arguments, and evidence. The ministry may ultimately decide to impose definitive AD duties based on its findings.
