Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) says anti-dumping duties on H-beams imported from China will not be extended past their 6 September 2027 expiry unless a sunset review is applied for by 27 February 2026, Kallanish notes.
The affected H-beams fall under HS codes 7216.33.11, 7216.33.19, 7216.33.90, 7228.70.10 and 7228.70.90.
Vietnam initially imposed the AD duties on 5 September 2017 for five years and decided to extend for anther five years from 6 September 2022 after the first sunset review concluded in August 2022.
MoIT initiated the third anti-dumping midterm review last November in response to a request the Department of Trade Remedies received from Hebei Jinxi Iron and Steel to review the application of the measures.
Hebei Jinxi and its subsidiaries now face the AD duty of 13.38% on the affected H-beams, while rates on other suppliers are at 31.24-33.51%.
Vietnam's intake of the H-beams from China slipped 8.8% year-on-year to around 92,024 tonnes in January-November 2025. However, the share of Chinese supplies rose to around 79% from 77.6% a year earlier.
