Indonesia's anti-dumping committee has made a preliminary affirmative ruling on hot-rolled coil imports from China's Wuhan Iron & Steel Group (Wugang), Kallanish notes.
The committee recommended a provisional anti-dumping duty of 17.55% of the imported value or a specific duty of $95.02/tonne.
As the only steelmaker exempted from existing anti-dumping duties at 20% imposed on Chinese HRC after the third sunset review concluded in December 2024, Wugang faced an anti-dumping investigation initiated last September.
Impacted products are flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, of a width of 600mm or more, hot-rolled, not clad, plated or coated, in coils. They fall under HS codes 7208.10.00, 7208.25.00, 7208.26.00, 7208.27.11, 7208.27.19, 7208.27.91, 7208.27.99, 7208.36.00, 7208.37.00, 7208.38.00, 7208.39.10, 7208.39.20, 7208.39.30, 7208.39.40, 7208.39.90, 7208.90.10, 7208.90.20 and 7208.90.90.
The measure will be imposed for four months if the actual duty corresponds to the recommended rate, or six months if the actual duty falls below the recommended rate.
