Iran's Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) finalised a tender deal last week for a 30,000-tonne parcel of commercial-grade steel billet (150mm, 3sp) for mid-February 2026 shipment at $415/tonne fob, Kallanish learns from market sources.
Market participants indicate the highest bid received for slab in the same tender stood at $418/t fob for similar load readiness; however, a deal was not confirmed concluded before deadline.
Market sources note that, amid electricity restrictions, compliance with the declared load readiness remains a question mark.
On 22 December, Iran announced strict electricity restrictions for the industrial sector, including for steelmakers, mandating a minimum 40% cut in power consumption.
