It was reported that Liberty's Magona rerolling mill, located in Piombino of Italy, temporarily suspended production from mid-June this year due to a shortage of high-quality materials.
The plant was originally scheduled to restart in August. However, the arrival of 10,000 tons of hot rolled coil supply from Liberty's Galati plant enabled the Magona plant to resume work ahead of schedule on Wednesday (July 28). The plant's pickling, rolling, galvanizing, and painting production lines would be restarted in order.
The Magona plant can produce 800,000 tons of galvanized and color-coated steel per year, but its output has been reduced by 300,000 to 400,000 tons in recent years.
