Thailand has extended its anti-dumping (AD) measures on cold-rolled steel flat products originating from Vietnam for another five years, effective immediately following an announcement on 6 October in the Royal Gazette.
The duties cover CR steel flat products of iron or non-alloy steel, in coils and sheets, in thickness of 0.3-3mm and the width no more than 1,320mm under more than 33 HS codes ranging from 7219 to 7220.
Products from Yongjin Metal Technology (Vietnam) Co and Tan Viet Metal Technology Company will face an anti-dumping duty of 9.95% of cif value, while all other Vietnamese producers and exporters are subject to 29.4% of cif value, Kallanish learns from the document.
Importers that produce finished products for re-export, or who operate under investment promotion privileges from the Board of Investment (BOI) or the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand may seek duty exemptions under applicable laws, the document notes.
The decision follows a review by the Committee on Dumping and Subsidy Review under the Ministry of Commerce, which concluded that removing the duties would likely lead to renewed dumping and injury to the domestic steel industry.
