Tokyo Steel is to reduce prices for most products in October after four months of stability amid an uncertain overseas market, sluggish domestic demand and steel manufacturers seeing thin profits, Kallanish notes.
Most product prices for October will be cut by JPY 3,000/tonne ($20.4/t) versus the previous month while section steel products will face a decrease of JPY 12,000/t. Meanwhile, base prices of square steel pipes and hot-dip galvanized coil remain unchanged at JPY 118,000/t and JPY 121,000/t in October, respectively.

The green steel premium for its near zero green steel will hold at JPY 5,900/t in October, unchanged on-month.
