Hithium secures 3-GWh BESS order from BOS Power

Chinese energy storage system provider Hithium will deliver 3 gigawatt-hours of battery energy
storage systems for Norway’s BOS Power projects in Europe, Kallanish learns.

Under the undisclosed deal inked with BOS Power, Hithium will supply its 6.25-megawatt-hour
Power BESS and its 5-MWh Block BESS. The systems will be used in projects in Denmark,
Sweden, Finland, and Norway, covering utility-scale developments ranging from 30 MWh and
up.

They are already constructing the first project under the agreement in Denmark, marking
Hithium’s entry into the Nordic market. Further details on the project, however, have not been
disclosed.

Hithium says that as part of the agreement, it will provide training to BOS Power’s teams and
authorise the company as a certified service provider, localised support and enhanced operational
efficiency for end customers.

“This agreement highlights our commitment to delivering large-scale, high-quality energy
storage systems across Northern Europe,” comments Kim Strate Kiegstad, head of energy
storage at BOS Power.

Kiegstad believes that with Hithium’s technology and BOS Power’s expertise in full engineering
procurement and construction (EPC) turnkey project execution and local integration, the
companies are  “well placed to support customers in building reliable, flexible and sustainable
energy infrastructure for the future.”

The Chinese manufacturer has recently achieved mass production and delivery of its next-
generation 1,175 ampere-hour and 587-Ah cells, setting what it calls new industry benchmarks
for energy density, cycle life, and reliability in large-scale storage applications. It produces both
lithium iron phosphate and sodium-ion cells.
