On August 11, 2025, the Mexican Ministry of Economy (SE) launched a review to decide on extending an anti-dumping (AD) duty on rebar from Brazil.
The duty, first imposed on August 11, 1995, at 57.69%, is being re-examined after complaints from domestic producers, including Ternium México, ArcelorMittal México, Deacero, and Grupo Simec. These companies argued that removing the AD duty would injure local production.
The review period is from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, and the analysis period is from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2025.
The current AD measures will stay in place while the investigation is ongoing.
The product involved is classified under tariff code 7214.20.01 of the TIGIE.
