Renewable energy comes from natural sources that are replenished faster than they are consumed. Sunlight and wind are continuously renewed, and these energy sources are abundant and available everywhere. Transitioning to clean, sustainable energy sources is no longer just an environmental imperative but also a strategic necessity for a safer, more resilient future.
Renewable energy offers a solution to these challenges.
1. Cost-effective
This is one of the most affordable power sources globally, providing up to 65% of the world's electricity supply by 2030. By 2050, It has the potential to decarbonize 90% of the power sector, cutting emissions and helping to combat climate change.1
2. Better health
Around 99% of the world population breathes air that exceeds the safe limits. Burning of fossil fuels contain harmful levels of fine particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide. In 2018, air pollution from fossil fuels resulted in $2.9 trillion in health and economic costs, equivalent to approximately $8 billion per day.1
3. Job creation
According to International Energy Agency (IEA), creation of the shift toward net-zero emissions will result in a net increase in energy sector jobs. By 2030, around 14 million new jobs will be created in the clean energy sector.
4. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
During energy production, wind, biomass, solar, water and other renewable energy sources
generate little to no greenhouse gas emissions. Utilization of renewable energy sources can reduce greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide. 2

Renewable energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines can enhance access to electricity, improving education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the communities.
6. Preserving Natural Resources
The unsustainable extraction of natural resources such as coal, gas, and oil can cause environmental harm and disrupt ecosystems. Transitioning to renewable energy helps mitigate the risks and challenges associated with such practices.2
7. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Part of a company’s CSR activities include promotion of sustainable development to renewable energy which is important to conduct environmentally and socially responsible business practices.
8. Technological Innovation
Industries around the world develop cutting-edge technology to optimize energy production. These include improved solar panel efficiency, wind turbine design and hydrogen fuel cells.3
