EEU extends China, Ukraine galvanized steel AD duty

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has extended the anti-dumping duty on galvanized steel imports from China and Ukraine for five more years, until 9 June 2030, Kallanish notes.

The decision was made following a repeat anti-dumping investigation launched on 2 September 2024 due to the upcoming expiry of the existing measure. This was based on an application from domestic producers in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), including Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), NLMK, and Severstal.

The anti-dumping duty on galvanized rolled products from China and Ukraine was established in accordance with the decision – No. 209 – of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated 3 December 2019.

It specified a duty on galvanized steel from China at 12.69-17% depending on the manufacturer, and from Ukraine at 23.9% of the customs value.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Russian Federation.
