Australia reviews duty on Chinese rod in coil

Australia's anti-dumping commission initiated a second sunset review on Chinese hot-rolled coil on 19 May at the request of InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty.

Involved products for rod in coils are under HS codes 7213.91.00.44 and 7227.90.90.02. Hot rolled deformed steel reinforcing bar in coil form and stainless steel in coil are excluded.

The inquiry period is from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 and the injury examination period is from 1 April 2020.

The anti-dumping commission will finish the statements of essential facts no later than 8 September 2025 and make the final recommendation no later than 21 October 2025. Interested parties have until 25 June 2025 for written submissions.

Australia initially imposed the AD duty on 22 April 2016 and extended the measure for another five years on 23 April 2021 after the first sunset review, which will expire on 22 April 2026. The current dumping margin is 33.1% and the duty method is combination of fixed and variable duty method.
