SeAH Steel Holdings Corp will invest about 400 billion won over the next three years to establish a plant for monopiles, an offshore wind power substructure, in the United Kingdom.
The company signed an MOU on building a world-class monopile production facility with the British government in August 2020. It has decided to participate in a British government-led offshore wind power value chain as the only monopile manufacturer.
Recently, SeAH Steel Holdings has wrapped up discussions with the U.K. government about details including the development of an exclusive port and financial support.
The investment will be made through SeAH Wind, which was established by SeAH Steel Holdings in the United Kingdom in February this year to enter the global offshore wind power substructure market.
