India extends HR, CR flats anti-dumping duties

India has extended anti-dumping duties on some hot rolled flat product imports from China, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Brazil and Indonesia, as well as cold rolled flats from China, Japan, South Korea and Ukraine. These duties, definitively imposed in May 2017 and provisionally in August 2016, are now in effect until 15 December, Kallanish notes.

The duties amount to the difference between the landed value and $478-561/tonne in the case of the HR flats, and landed value and $576/t in the case of CR flats. The products affected fall under HS code headings 7208, 7211, 7225 and 7226 in the case of HR flats, and 7209, 7211, 7225 and 7226 in the case of CR flats.

The duties do not apply to HR stainless steel, electrolytically-plated or zinc-coated steel, or cladded steel. In the case of CR flats they do not apply to stainless, high-speed steel or silicon electrical steel.
