Mexico's DEACERO to make investment in state-of-art steel mill in Coahuila

Mexican company DEACERO is set to invest US$600 million in a new steel mill in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila. The mill will produce structural profiles up to 27 inches, aiming to meet national demand and reduce imports.

Operations are slated to begin in February 2026, with the complex becoming one of the world's most modern and sustainable steel mills. The project will create 1,000 direct jobs and 2,500 indirect jobs, plus 1,500 daily construction jobs.

Incorporating cutting-edge technologies and circular economy practices, the mill will have a production capacity of one million tons annually, using recycled steel, clean energy, and electric furnace technology to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. This investment, along with previous investments, totals US$1.3 billion, making Coahuila Mexico's largest steel producer.
