The Australian steelmaker BlueScope received a subvention of around A$136.8 million for the renovation of the No.6 blast furnace number at the Port Kembla plant and also for improvements to the plant's environmental systems.
Tania Archibald, CEO of Australian Steel Products, greatly appreciated this subvention which supports the renovation and helps ensure the continued production of iron and steel.
The director added that the Port Kembla plant is the only domestic manufacturer of flat steel products in Australia and produces high-quality steel products that support key national sectors such as construction, energy, infrastructure, and defense.
