Danieli walking-beam furnace for Stahlwerk Annahütte

Danieli Centro Combustion technology and equipment have been selected by Stahlwerk Annahütte Max Aicher for a complete walking-beam furnace for billet reheating to be installed in Ainring-Hammerau, Germany, as part of a broader modernization strategy. The production is composed of high-quality special steel bars and thread bars used in the technical engineering sector as well as in the automotive and tool industries.

The new 80-tph furnace will deliver to the mill perfect heated billets with accurate temperature uniformity that will ensure high-quality rolled products.

The investment will guarantee Stahlwerk Annahütte more economical and environmentally friendly operation thanks to lower energy consumption and related CO2 emissions. Similarly, NOx emissions value also will be minimized.

The combustion system will include Danieli-patented Hydromab hydrogen-ready burners.

As part of the order, the Danieli supply will include furnace power distribution, automation, human machine interfaces, and L1 and L2 process controls with mathematical models for the optimization of the heating process.

Furnace upstream and downstream material handling equipment, hydraulic systems, and combustion technologies including the combustion air-preheating and the exhaust system will complete the installation.

The new reheating furnace is scheduled to start production by September 2024.
