According to statistics, Vietnam’s scrap imports totaled around 329,000 tons in September this year, basically keeping flat compared to the previous month due to slow domestic steel consumption and a sluggish export market, but falling by 19% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, Japan and the US were still two major sources of Vietnam’s scrap, accounting for 58% of the total imports in September.
In the first three quarters of this year, Vietnam imported a total of around 3.4 million tons of scrap, a year-on-year drop of 31%.
