By the end of this year, BYD is expected to deliver Marva, a local Mexican major transportation company, a total of 120 battery electric semi-trailers, according to BYD.
Recently, BYD's Mexican branch delivered the first-batch of five battery electric Q3MA semi-trailers to Marva at the Expo Transporte in Puebla, an inland state east of the capital Mexico City.
The Q3MA semi-trailers are equipped with BYD's self-developed lithium iron phosphate batteries and motor integrated bridge, Kallanish learns. The maximum allowable towing gross mass is 35 tonnes. This model is generally used in mid-to-short-distance logistics involving ports, industrial parts, or between cities.
Marva's ceo Miguel Ángel Martínez says: “This pure electric semi-trailer tractor fleet will help to reduce carbon emissions by around 33,000 t per year, creating a cleaner and more environmentally friendly transportation industry.”
Zou Zhou, country manager of BYD Mexico, says: "This batch of 120 battery electric semi-trailers will be jointly operated by the world-leading fleet management company Element Fleet Management and the renewable energy company Enel X through coordination and collaboration. BYD will work with Marva and other outstanding partners to jointly promote the green transformation of the transportation and logistics industry of Mexico."
