ArcelorMittal Barra Mansa ordered a new complete rolling mill and reheating furnace from Italian steel equipment manufacturer Danieli. The facility will yearly produce 400,000 tons of quality bars and medium sections, raising the plant’s production capacity at the most competitive operating expense.
The rolling mill will produce profiles, spring flats, angles-channels-beams, rounds, and squares, from square billets and blooms with a length from 6 to 12 meters, reheated by the new Centro Combustion walking-beam furnace, based on the needs of the final product and process.
The operation of the new equipment was expected to start by mid-2024.
