Nippon Steel Corporation, one of the leading steel manufacturers in Japan, recently announced that it will resume the operation of the No. 3 blast furnace at Nagoya Works by the end of August, as the company expected steel demand to improve. The demand for steel used in construction, industrial machinery, and shipbuilding industries was foreseen to grow steadily.
It was understood that the renovation work of this blast furnace was completed in late June, but the restart, originally scheduled in early June, was postponed due to the sluggish demand in Japan’s automotive industry and some other sectors.
