According to Algoma Steel's CEO Michael Garcia, although the market is unstable, the company will continue its development and achieve strong performance. The electric arc furnace renovation project will also be launched in 2024.
The company is in discussions with United Steelworkers Union Local 2251 on a new labor agreement, which will be extended for 15 days, in the hope that the two sides will reach a fair and equitable agreement.
The company is also maintaining normal operations and looks forward to moving towards the collective strategy of leaders in green steel production in North America.
