According to statistics from the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand (ISIT), Thailand imported around 370,000 tons of billet in June this year, significantly rising by 54.2% compared to the previous month and also hiking by 55.9% from the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports were mostly from Oman, accounting for roughly 260,000 tons, followed by Japan’s 40,000 tons.
In the first half of this year, Thailand’s billet imports amounted to 1.59 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.1%.
