The Mongolian car brand Bars Motors launched the production of its own electric vehicles in July, Kallanish notes.
The Mongolian electric car MOZO is a licensed copy of the Chinese Hengrun HRS1, which in turn resembles the Suzuki Jimny. MOZO is an abbreviation that translates to "the Intelligence of the Mongolian people". The brand now wants to begin producing a hybrid vehicle.
The electric powertrain is identical to the Hengrun HRS1. It consists of a 44-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle, which accelerates the 1,020 kg electric car to a maximum of 102 km/h. The battery has a capacity of 28.2 kWh and allows travelling with one charge up to 305 kilometres. Prices start at MNT 79 million ($25,110).
Bars Motors is also preparing a MOZO E-Vision hybrid crossover. However, this is also not a Mongolian development, because the car is based on the Zotye T300 model, and the gasoline engine is a Mitsubishi 4G15 with 112 horsepower.
Bars Motors has upgraded the design by adding two electric motors to the rear wheels for a total of 102 battery horsepower, making the car a 4x4. The power reserve has not yet been revealed, but the battery capacity is quite decent for hybrid models - 36 kilowatt-hours.
However, the MOZO E-Vision only exists in official renders so far, and there is no word yet on when production will begin. But the price is already known – MNT 129m. Bars Motors has a small factory that it calls the first enterprise running on blockchain technology. Its production capacity is only 2,500 cars per year.
