According to statistics from Spanish Steel Association (UNESID), Spain's steel output totaled 1 million tons in March this year, growing by 3.2% compared to the preceding month while dropping by 23% from the period a year ago.
In the first quarter of this year, Spain produced a total of 2.98 million tons of steel.
In March, Spain’s steel industry recycled 747,000 tons of scrap for new steel products, sliding by 5.3% month on month and by 29% year on year.
During the January-March period, 2.24 million tons of scrap were recycled by Spain’s steel industry.
