ArcelorMittal, the second-largest steelmaker in the world, announced last Wednesday a new investment of R$144 million in its Sabará plant, located in Brazil's Minas Gerais province. With this investment, the plant's capacity will increase by 35%.
Jefferson De Paula, president of ArcelorMittal Brasil, pointed out that the investment strengthens its position in the Brazilian market and increases the company's competitiveness in the automotive and industrial sectors.
This is the fifth investment announced by the company in recent months, which total amount was up to R$7.8 billion, which will be concentrated from 2022 to 2025.
