According to statistics, China's scrap imports totaled around 20,400 tons in April 2022, a month-on-month increase of 10% and a year-on-year decline of 71%.
Among them, Japan was still China's largest scrap supplier, accounting for 68% of China's total scrap imports in April, followed by South Korea, accounting for 20%.
In April, China imported around 16,200 tons of scrap from Japan, up by 38% month on month and decreasing by 69% year on year. The amount of scrap imported from South Korea was roughly 2,800 tons, down by 35% month on month and by 82% year on year.
