EU issues preliminary AD ruling on electrolytic chromium coated steel products from China & Brazil

On May 23, 2022, the European Commission issued an announcement to make a preliminary affirmative anti-dumping (AD) ruling on electrolytic chromium coated steel products originating in China and Brazil, deciding to impose AD measures on the companies involved from the day after this announcement was published in the Official Gazette.

A six-month provisional AD duty will be imposed, ranging from 33.2% to 77.9% for the products involved in China, and 52.0% for the products involved in Brazil.

The EU CN codes of the products involved are 7210 50 00 and 7212 50 20.

The dumping and damage investigation period of this case was from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, and the damage investigation period was from January 1, 2018 to the end of the dumping and damage investigation period.

On September 24, 2021, the European Commission issued an announcement stating that in response to an application submitted by the European Steel Association (EUROFER) on August 13, 2021, it conducted an AD investigation on electrolytic chromium coated steel products from China and Brazil.
