Zenith Steel to start green steel project

On the morning of 9 June 2020, Zenith Steel and MCC Huatian Engineering & Technology Corporation signed a contract for its longs project, marking the construction is about to start, Kallanish notes from Zenith Steel's official website. The long project includes four rebar production lines, each with capacity to produce 1.89 million tonnes/year after commissioning.

Zenith Steel told the Haimen city government on 12 May that it has brought forward the start date for construction of the rebar mills to August (see Kallanish passim). It also sighed over ten contracts for different production mills with another seven companies on 9 June, representing the completion of all bidding for the whole project. The whole project is expected to produce 6.6m t/y of iron, 5.85m t/y of crude steel. Various equipment is expected to be commissioned over September 2022-March 2023. 

According to the plan, the project will be equipped with a large-scale centralised control system and high-end industrial robots, and the labour productivity of the whole project is expected to reach 2,000 t/y per person of steel.
