Imported scrap prices in Turkey have further increased on Thursday with fresh deals from the Baltic region.
A mill in western Turkey is confirmed to have bought Baltic-origin scrap cargo from a trader that consists 20,000 tonnes of HMS 80:20 at $345/t cfr and 4,000t of bonus at $355/t cfr.
A mill in Marmara has concluded Baltic-origin HMS 80:20 at $350/t, shredded at $355/t and bonus grade at $360/t cfr. Another mill in western Turkey has bought the same grade at a average $346.5/t from Estonia. Meanwhile, a supplier in Denmark has sold to a mill in northern Turkey at average $353.5/t cfr, where HMS 80:20 corresponds to $350/t cfr.
A European supplier is heard to have a price idea for HMS 80:20 at $350/t cfr now. Although no offers are heard from the US, market participants find $360/t cfr levels from the US very likely in the near term.
A revision is also observed in Turkish shipbreaking prices on Thursday. Shipbreaking scrap prices which stood at $320/t on Wednesday have increased by $5/t on Thursday to $325/t delivered by truck.
