Scrap

  • The European ferrous scrap market for HMS 1&2 (80:20) cfr Turkey has moved up by about $28 per tonne in the past few weeks. Metal Bulletin’s daily scrap index for Northern Europe-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap into Turkey was assessed at $367.69 per tonne cfr on March 13. It was in the range of $319-341 per tonne in the first week of December 2017. - source: Metal Bulletin

  • Iran, export, billet, offered at $545-550 per tonne cfr, to the UAE.

  • Global Platts assessed the weekly Brazilian export steel slab price $27.50 higher at $566.50/mt FOB Brazilian ports on Friday, based on a range of $563-$570/mt for bids, offers and deals. - source: Platts

Bar/ Wire rod

  • S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish export rebar unchanged Tuesday at $590/mt ($585-$595/mt) FOB Turkey. - source: Platts 
  • In Singapore, the lowest offer was down by $5/mt to $570/mt CFR for 10-40 mm theoretical weight for a backto-back cargo from a major Chinese exporting mill, a Shanghai-based trader said. This was equivalent to $567/mt FOB China actual weight. Other offers received were at $575-$580/mt CFR, unchanged from Monday,local stockists said. source: Platts 
  • In Hong Kong, the most competitive offer for Chinese 10-40 mm rebar was heard at $575/mt CFR actual weight for April shipment, down by $5/mt, a local stockist said. Another offer for Qatari rebar was at $570/mt for April shipment, down by $10/mt from last week, said a second stockist. Local stockists said they were willing to buywhen prices reach $550/mt CFR. - source: Platts

 

HRC/P

  • In Vietnam, China-origin HRC SAE1006 was heard to have been offered at $638-$645/mt CFR Vietnam for May shipment. Offers for South Korea-origin HRC SAE1006 were reported at $670/mt CFR Vietnam. However, most buyers in Vietnam were in wait-and-watch mode due to a recent pricing drop, a trader told Platts. - source: Platts
