Steel Prices in Other Countries

 

Scrap

  • Taiwan’s Feng Hsin Steel has increased both its domestic ferrous scrap purchase prices and its rebar selling price by NT$300 ($10) per tonne this week.  The steelmaker will pay NT$7,000-7,600 ($226-245) per tonne for mainstream grades of scrap. Metal Bulletin’s import price assessment for USA-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) in Taiwan was $243-253 per tonne cfr for the week ended Friday February 17, up $13 per tonne from the previous week. - source: Metal Bulletin

 

  • Prices for Taiwanese containerized HMS # 1&2 80:20 imports climbed by $6 a ton to $251 a ton during the week ended February 17. -source: The Steel Index
