HD Mold — A New Fiber-Optical-Based Mold Monitoring System
The focus of this paper is how to achieve the desired cooling rate while keeping temperature
difference at minimum during an accelerated cooling process. A mathematical model was constructed in which water flow distribution was used as a control variable and temperature
uniformity within the crosssection of plate as the objective function. The application of the present work is illustrated by simulation examples, and a compromise between cooling rate and uniformity is discussed.
