Improved Determination of the Effect of Alloying Elements on the Peritectic Range in Low-Alloyed Cast Steel

In this study, the strengthening mechanisms in direct quenched Nb-V-Ti microalloyed 0.2C

martensitic steels are investigated. Austenitization at various time/temperature combinations

has been employed to study the effects of austenite grain size on the final martensitic

microstructure. The additional effects of NbC precipitation strengthening are also assessed.
